Support from the military

The Greek soldiers, from a local helicopter battalion, manage the camp which involves registration, putting up tents, providing food, keeping the place clean and safe as well as many other activities.

They are a fantastic, compassionate bunch and they have been a pleasure to work with.

We should make clear that this is not a prison camp – the residents are free to come and go as they wish and can leave whenever they want.
