Make a Difference: Join Our Volunteer Team in Bournemouth

Volunteering with Refugee Support is a powerful way to show solidarity with displaced people whilst having a real impact. From day one, you will make a difference.

We are looking for volunteers, who can commit at least half a day a week (Monday to Friday) on a regular, weekly basis to help run our busy Bournemouth Dignity Centre.

Volunteers are expected to get involved in all tasks onsite, including:

  • Welcoming and registering members, explaining what we do and how we work
  • Assisting members shop in our ‘free shop’.
  • Supporting members at our busy helpdesk with tasks including applying for Universal Credit, searching for housing, and referrals to other agencies and organisations.
  • Sorting donations, doing inventories and restocking the market.
  • Cleaning, tidying and keeping the space welcoming and inviting at all times.
  • Participating in activities, workshops and events.

RSE is committed to boundary-setting and challenging unequal power dynamics embedded in the systems in which we operate. We do not accept applications from volunteers who are already volunteering/working with our Dignity Centre members with other groups/organisations nor from current members themselves. You will need to read and sign the full Volunteer Agreement as part of the application process.
