The Dignity Centre Nicosia was recently transformed into a space of joy and appreciation, when the Sudanese refugee community organised a special event to thank our team and celebrate the Centre’s impact in their lives.
Our staff, volunteers and guests were treated to a Sudanese buffet of home-cooked dishes and sweets, with music and dancing filling the space and the street outside. The warm atmosphere echoed the community’s message: “We meet to rejoice, sing and eat together and express our love for you and the Centre.”
It was moving to be part of this joyful gesture with members, many of whom face unimaginable uncertainty.
We’re so grateful to the Sudanese community for this wonderful day, and for reminding us of the strength and goodwill that emerge when we stand together in solidarity.
