On 13th June, we celebrated six years of the Dignity Centre in Nicosia: a vibrant, welcoming space shaped by the people who pass through its doors. This milestone reflects the community that has grown here over time – and the ongoing need for a place like this in Cyprus.

Since opening in 2019, the Centre has become a vital community hub for thousands of refugees and people seeking asylum in Nicosia and across the island, offering dignified support at times of urgent need.
This anniversary is a moment to appreciate the community, solidarity and everyday acts of care that have defined the past six years, and to recommit to the work that still lies ahead.

We marked the occasion in true Dignity Centre style, with delicious food, lively music and dancing, and a show-stopping cake. Two bikes were raffled off, one of which went to a much-loved member who volunteers as our gardener, caring for the plants in and around the Centre.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey.
