In the sixth of our series about helping in a crisis, we talk to our super dynamic Chair of Trustees Alan Strang, about the importance of making it personal.

• Instead of treating people as a group, take the time to understand people’s stories and treat them as individuals
• You need to give people the opportunity to share what they want to share and respect that
• It helps to show that you care and is dignified
• Spending time with people is often more important than giving them things
