Helping the Helpers: Don’t freak out

In the seventh of our series about helping in a crisis, we talk to Coordinator Shannon who led our projects in Greece, Mexico and in Bangladesh. Supremely capable and with bags of experience, she talks to us about the importance of not freaking out!

  • Emotions can get heightened and there can be a stress response so you need to rein them in
  • Hold your emotions in check and talk about it with co-workers later
  • If you can stay calm and keep a cool head – it will prevent mistakes and accidents and build trust
