Gulwali Passarlay visits Chisinau Dignity Centre

When Gulwali Passarlay, our Trustee and author of The Lightless Sky visited our Dignity Centre in Chisinau, we were delighted at to show him how it works in practice.

We know from his writing, his tireless campaigning for refugee rights, and his commitment to promoting RSE that dignity is a priority so we were to show him how our Aid with Dignity works in practice. We were delighted when Gulwali noted how pristine and efficiently organised the centre was!

He was a pleasure to meet and work alongside. While eating in a Georgian restaurant all together as a team, Gulwali showed us a list of all the countries he has had the opportunity to travel to since getting his UK passport. That was only possible after years of hard work and persistence. We discussed how everyone deserves the right to travel unhinged, but most importantly to be treated with Dignity.

“It was lovely visiting our dignity centre today in Chișinău and spending time with the volunteers. I saw dignity in action with the way people receiving help were treated with kindness and respect. This was a humanising experience for me to see refugees provided with agency and choice of what they need and want without being judged. I enjoyed my visit and time here in Moldova”.
