Dignify 2021 – Another massive success!

Our last Dignify event in 2019 was an enormous success so we didn’t change the formula: lovely people enjoying a great line-up of live bands and comedy entertainment at the iconic Bedford all for a good cause.

Covid ruined all of our plans in 2020 so this was a critical event on our fundraising calendar and our supporters didn’t let us down: we raised £62,265!!! (That smashes our 2019 total of £50,000). Much of that comes from generous sponsors including the great people at Talon Outdoor.

For the second time, The Bedford  provided the space for free and donated cash. They also have the best staff in South London. including the wonderful musicians Tony Moore, who was key to organising the night together with Nick Kidney, and Production Manager Richard Hunt.

Last year’s wonderful live music acts Catching Cairo and Gracie Convert were joined by Solar Strides and SOL Collective. Our patron Ian Shaw sang with the incomparable Sarah Jane Morris reminding us of why we were there. You can still watch any of the acts on the facebook livestream.

There really is no describing Blingo Hip Hop Bingo but those of who were there didn’t stop laughing and dancing from the moment they started. Then the night was rounded off in style with DJ Rob Mello.

All the performers gave their time for free and of course, none of it would have been possible without the army of volunteers behind the scenes, thanks to all of them including Jen Stobart who managed things efficiently on the night, the wonderful PR team at Gong Communications, Andy Mattock of Brighton Website Designs who built the wonderful event website and photographer Clive Andrews.

Special mention has to go to two people who really are the driving force behind the whole event trustee Eve Linieres and Philippa Brown of PHD Media.

See you next year!
