Our Trustees

Andrew Tasker, Chair

A regular volunteer in our Dignity Centres since 2022, Andrew is a passionate believer in the importance of the dignity model in supporting those in need in a compassionate way. He has spent the last 18 years supporting nonprofits to build effective programmes in healthcare, science and education. He has been the Director of Business Affairs at the Champalimaud Foundation; the World Cancer Congress Regional Lead for Europe; and an advisor to charities and start-ups across the world.

Dina Nayeri, Advocate

Born during the Iranian revolution, Dina lived as a refugee for two years before being granted asylum in the United States. She is the author of the multi-award winning book, The Ungrateful Refugee, which was called by the Observer "a work of astonishing, insistent importance." Dina travelled to Greece to support our work in 2017 and 2018, and has been an advocate for Refugee Support ever since. She recently published another book, Who Gets Believed?, which explores the unspoken social codes that determine how we relate to one another, and why people seeking asylum get dismissed as liars.

Bea Shrewsbury, Treasurer

With a long career helping SMEs to manage their finances and grow in a sustainable way, Bea was involved in the founding of Refugee Support, having volunteered with us back in 2016. Bea's mother arrived in the UK as an unaccompanied minor at eight years old, and this fact was a big part of who she is today. Bea is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), an appointment which represents her extensive experience and long-term commitment to professionalism and ethics.

Alison Behrens, Safeguarding and Volunteers

Passionate about research and its possibilities for improving quality of life and life chances, Alison has decades' of experience supporting organisations, government and businesses communicate better with their customers and users. She brings those transferrable skills to overseeing our volunteer relations and safeguarding, managing our volunteer interview team and ensuring our robust code of conduct and safeguarding policy is consistently implemented and iterated where relevant. Alison also provides invaluable support with our monitoring and evaluation programme.

Eve Linieres, Fundraising and Events

Eve has over 25 years’ experience in executive search, building globally recognised talent organisations and working with leaders at major tech companies including Apple. With a people-first approach, she brings creativity, entrepreneurial drive and a deep understanding of culture and leadership. After volunteering with us in Greece in 2017 and 2018, she saw the impact of dignity-led support firsthand. Eve organises our flagship fundraising event, Dignify, and nurtures relationships with grant-giving organisations to support our work.

Michael Thompson, Risk and Compliance

Michael joined Refugee Support in 2022 to help set up operations in Moldova and has been involved ever since. Born in Malawi and having worked in over 70 countries, he brings a global perspective and a strong belief in dignity-led support. He is Managing Director of Enchange, a global supply chain consultancy, and has led hundreds of transformational projects. Michael brings strategic insight to our risk and compliance frameworks. In 2023, he cycled over 3,000km across Australia to raise awareness and funds for our work.

Mark Lamprell, Creative Partnerships

Mark is an acclaimed film director, screenwriter, novelist, children’s author, and painter. His film credits include Babe: Pig in the City, My Mother Frank, Goddess, A Few Less Men and Never Too Late. His novels—published in 16 countries and 12 languages—include The Full Ridiculous, The Lover’s Guide to Rome, The Secret Wife, and Things I Need You to Know. His paintings are exhibited in Valencia, Spain. In both his art and advocacy, Mark celebrates the strength found in unity—a conviction shared by Refugee Support as it helps people build their lives with dignity and purpose.

Bonnie Howard, Impact and Networks

Bonnie has volunteered on the ground with refugees in Calais and with Refugee Support in Cyprus and joined us as a trustee in 2025, having been inspired by her Cyprus experience. She is a strong advocate of our approach to providing dignified support through the initial phases of arrival, which can be some of the most challenging and distressing for refugees. Bonnie is a career economist and leader, and as a trustee brings insight on impact assessment, risk management and organisational approach as well as a passion to make a positive difference to refugees.
