Some of what we have achieved one year on: local accommodation for newborns and mothers

We’ve been working in Alexandreia for a year and this week want to give a voice to some of the extraordinary people we’ve supported. We’ve helped in lots of ways but what these people really want is a new life, and not to be living on a camp. Today Mohammed, just 20, here with his baby son who was born while on the camp and his dreams for the future.

We provide local accommodation for all babies and new mothers before they return to the camp so that they can have some respite from that difficult environment and to help their recovery. Because of complications, this family spent a month in local accommodation before returning.
